Handcrafted. Silver with one gold-filled pit. Gold-fill can last a lifetime unlike gold-plating which wears down to expose the metal underneath. It is a 14k gold overlay made by heat and pressure-bonding the layer to a brass core. This piece is made by hand by forging, soldering and hammering. 2.5 L x 1.75 W
FROM THE DESIGNER: At an early age I was always drawn to art whether it was drawing, painting or just creating something out of nothing. I started making jewelry at age 15 and realized that nothing came close to the thrill, fulfillment and accomplishment I felt when someone wore a piece of jewelry I created. I studied metalsmithing to learn the process of forging, soldering and texturing metal both silver and 14k gold - everthing is done freehand to ensure originality and uniqueness. I'm inspired by everything that surrounds me - the pattern on a single leaf or an 18th century painting. It's difficult to put my jewelry in a category because anything can influence any piece at any moment. But, a couple of traits that are consistent in my work are beautiful organic silhouttes and fine detail. I never know exactly what I'm about to create, it tends to evolve on its own. If my jewelry brings out the beauty and joy in anyone who it may adorn, I know that I've chosen the right path. Enjoy!
